The manufacturer requires the correct vehicle details, lift size, and driveshaft measurement when ordering. Measurements should be taken with the Jeep sitting at normal ride height according to the manufacturer's measurement procedure.
Depending on the lift-kit design and resulting driveline geometry, adjustable rear upper control arms may be required to set the correct pinion angle.
For tires larger than 37 inches, Adams recommends upgrading to its Extreme Duty 1350-series driveshaft. Suspension lifts beyond approximately 6 inches may also create excessive driveshaft operating angles or binding.
At RK Custom, we recommend checking rear suspension geometry, pinion angle, driveshaft clearance, suspension travel, and fastener torque during installation—particularly on Jeeps built for aggressive off-road use.

The Adams Driveshaft Extreme Duty 1310 Rear CV Driveshaft is designed specifically for 2018–2019 Jeep Wrangler JL Sport and Sahara models, including both 2-door and 4-door configurations. It is an upgraded rear driveline solution for modified Jeeps that need greater strength and durability than the factory driveshaft can provide.
Built from 2.5-inch D.O.M. tubing with a 0.095-inch wall, this Extreme Duty driveshaft is intended for demanding off-road use, lifted suspension setups, larger tires, and vehicles that regularly put additional load through the drivetrain. It uses solid, non-greasable Spicer U-joints along with components from Spicer and Neapco.
The 1310-series CV configuration is rated by the manufacturer for Jeeps running up to 37-inch tires. Once tire size exceeds 37 inches, Adams recommends moving to its heavier-duty 1350-series driveshaft. This distinction matters because increasing tire diameter and weight can significantly increase the load transmitted through the driveshaft, axle, differential gears, and related drivetrain components.
The driveshaft is also intended to work with suspension lifts of up to approximately 6 inches. However, lift height alone does not determine correct driveline geometry. Depending on the lift kit and suspension configuration, adjustable rear upper control arms may be required to correctly set the pinion angle. Excessive operating angle can cause vibration, accelerated joint wear, or binding.
Another important point is measurement. The correct driveshaft should be ordered according to the Jeep’s actual configuration and ride-height measurement. Vehicle year, model, door configuration, lift height, and required driveshaft measurement should all be confirmed before ordering.
The kit includes an American-made 1310 rear transfer-case output shaft yoke, Grade 10 installation bolts, and the required driveshaft components. The finished shaft is supplied in a gloss black coating.
At RK Custom, we recommend upgrading the driveshaft as part of the complete suspension and driveline setup rather than treating it as an isolated component. On a lifted Jeep JL, driveshaft angle, pinion angle, suspension travel, control-arm geometry, tire size, and intended off-road use all need to work together. For Sport and Sahara owners building a capable trail, rock, or desert Jeep, the Adams Extreme Duty 1310 provides a purpose-built rear driveline upgrade designed for significantly more demanding use than a stock configuration.
